Lake Tobechik on the map. Tobechik lake. Useful information for tourists

After visiting the ancient cities, we went in search of a place for a tent near a pond so that we could park a car nearby. In this article, we will describe how we visited the village of Geroevka, went to Lake Tobechik, found post-war fortifications, and where we stayed for the night. Of course there will be photographs to convey the beauty of these places!

Geroevka.

The village of Geroevskoye, Geroevka, Eltigen - there are many names that do not change its essence. It is worth familiarizing yourself with the history and the reason for this name becomes clear. Eltigen is translated from Crimean Tatar as "Land of Heroes". Apparently, this place has always been rich in brave and selfless people. About 70 heroes of the Soviet Union from this land. To feel proud of our grandfathers, read about the Eltigen landing, about their dedication and true heroism!

The village of Geroevskoye is located one kilometer from Nymphaeum. We got there in a few minutes. Quiet, cozy place. Many monuments. The Park of Military Glory, where a motorboat is presented, on such our grandfathers broke into the Crimea occupied by the Nazis. We could not find a place for a tent, and we went to Lake Tobechik.

Lake Tobechik is a salty lake rich in healing mineral salts and mud. It is located a little further from Geroevka, near the village of Chelyadinovo. A steep descent leads to the village, from which a panoramic view of the lake opens:

When descending, we noticed incomprehensible structures in the ground, some ruins:

It turned out to be artillery blocks, what was left of them, it was dark inside, they did not enter. Watch our review in the video, how they look, there are fans of climbing in such places, maybe someone will be interested.

After visiting the places of former glory, we went to Lake Tobechik. The road passes along the spit that separates the lake from the sea. The width is only 60 meters. Car entrances are made towards the sea. If not for the strong wind, we would have stopped with a tent here. For some reason we didn't take pictures here, but the video was filmed. Of the minuses of spending the night is that there is a road nearby. We stood, enjoyed the beauty, decided to ride further along the road. The road is uphill, with sharp turns — I liked it. We arrived at the turn to the Embankment. Then we decided not to go, but we were interested in the country road to the right, leading to the lake from the other side. Go for it and do not regret it! It opened a gorgeous view of Lake Tobechik, from the other side:

It's already evening time. Haven't decided on a place to stay yet. Still, we decided to spend the night on the beach near Nymphaeum. I still had to find a way to get there. Therefore, we enjoyed the views of Lake Tobechik and went to the city beach of Kerch.

The road to the beach at Nymphaeum.

We arrived at the city beach of Kerch. For convenience, we will show the road on the map. We got to the stop, saw a lot of fishermen. We turned right and slowly drove off, the road is country, with potholes, puddles. After 500 meters turn to the beach, where you can also stop with a tent. But our goal is the beach at Nymphaeum. One after another, good places were passing with a stop for a car. On the left is the sea, on the right is the river, you can stand here and there. We went further. Homes started. And here a road appeared uphill, to the frontier post familiar to us. They paid attention to her when they were in Nymphaeum. Climbing it was easier than going down to the beach. The descent is steep, with stones, potholes, there is a big risk of going through the bottom of the earth. How could they get down and stay there! It was possible to exhale, finally another dream will come true - to spend the night on the seashore!

Overnight.

We chose a place for a tent. We put the car closer and began to unfold. We set up a tent and hurried to the sea. The sun was setting. They sat, listening to the sound of the waves, covered themselves with blankets from the wind. Then we went to the tent for supper. Poured buckwheat flakes hot water from thermoses, opened meatballs from army rations. Later they drank tea with pate, which they spread on bread. It got dark. Fully felt tired. We climbed into sleeping bags for the first time, tried out a camping lantern - a cool thing!

Thus ended our second day in the Crimea. After leaving the hostel, we stopped at the store, bought yogurt. The expense was 70 rubles for the whole day. Then we went to the ancient city. After him we visited the ancient settlement. We drove through the village of Geroevskoye, visited the ruins of an artillery block. After that, we were delighted with Lake Tobechik, then we went to sleep on the beach near Nymphaeum. It's been a busy day!

At three o'clock in the morning we woke up from the sound of thunder, a cloud was approaching from the direction of Kerch, illuminating the sky. After assessing the situation, it was decided to urgently gather, because if it rains and the road is washed away, we simply won’t leave here. We assembled the tent and began to notice that the cloud was moving in the other direction. Thank God, there was time to cook breakfast and boil water in thermoses.

After breakfast, a no less eventful day awaited us, we started it with a visit to Mount Mithridates and the capital of the Bosporan kingdom - the city of Panticapaeum. Read about it and watch the video!

The healing properties of the Crimea are not limited to sea bathing and mountain air. The healing mud of the local salt lakes has also gained world fame and a very long time ago. They almost miraculously help to cope with many serious ailments. Near most of these reservoirs there are sanatoriums and health centers, but not near all. Lake Tobechik in Crimea continues to be sparsely populated and almost untouched. Vouchers are not sold here - tourists who want to relax and heal, go "savages".

Where is the reservoir in the Crimea?

Lake Tobechik is located in the southeastern part, at the very sea strait. about 12 km are separated from it. The nearest settlements are the villages of Chelyadinovo, Maryavka and Ogonki.

Tobechik on the map of Crimea

From the history of appearance: the former bay

Today it is difficult for a tourist to believe that it was not nature that created Lake Tobechikskoe. Crimea is replete with such places where the former bays and gulfs of the sea for various reasons have turned into salty reservoirs. This is the origin of Tobechik. An isthmus 1 km long, separating it from, was poured in order to lay a road. Thus, the bay (one of the largest in the Kerch Strait) became a salt lake. There are many mud volcanoes at its bottom, which explains the healing properties of silt.

10 years ago, a new project appeared - the construction of a large international port here. Ecologists organized a protest campaign against the decision, which could destroy the unique therapeutic mud and the entire natural complex. The implementation of the project has slowed down, but it has not been completely “buried” until today.

At the same time, there is not a single hospital on the shores, although archaeological research has proven that the ancient Greeks already knew about the healing possibilities of mud from its bottom. Gray and black healing silt was found here, it does not have the unpleasant smell of rotten eggs, which is so characteristic of such fossils. The remains of ancient hospitals and inscriptions have been found, which do not allow doubting the purpose of these buildings. In the 19th century, the mud of the reservoir was even exported to Italy, but at the beginning of the 20th century, the last health resort on its shore was closed. The reason is unknown.

Myths and legends about. Tobechik: controversial name

The contradiction lies in the fact that "Tobechik" in Turkic means "a small mound, a hill" - a strange name for. However, under certain conditions, not knowing about the presence of a reservoir here, it is indeed difficult to see it among the surrounding hills.

Crimean old-timers also talk about the fact that when it was its estuary, the lake was distinguished by an incredible amount of fish - “at least catch it with your hands.” However, this has already receded into the realm of legends - now there are no inhabitants here at all, they disappeared after the construction of the dam.

They also say that during the Great Patriotic War The surface of Lake Tobechik was used as a hydroaerodrome. It is possible that several planes still lie at its bottom, immersed in silt. All this is shrouded in secrets and darkness of the historical past!

Lake Tobechik: a healthy holiday in Crimea

Today, guests of Kerch often visit Lake Tobechik in Crimea. They come either for one day or to the parking lot with a tent. Rest here is devoid of special exoticism, but that is why it is pleasant. Although the reservoir is quite large (length - up to 9 km, width - up to 4.5 km), its depth does not exceed 2 m, so the water warms up very well. In desalinated backwaters, it can "bloom", more saline areas remain clean. The coast here is largely indented, steep cliffs several meters high are not uncommon, but more often the coast is still low. It is difficult to drown while swimming due to the small depth,
and the sandy embankment at the dam is considered one of the best beaches in the area.

Many tourists try, according to their own understanding, to “treat” by smearing themselves with silt from the lake bottom. Others are simply attracted by the beautiful nature. True, the photo cannot correctly capture some of the specific effects that arise due to a change in the color of the water (a consequence of the activity of mud volcanoes) and at the same time the appearance of a reflection of the surrounding landscapes. But the reviews of those who have seen such pictures testify: the impressions are unforgettable.

It is impossible to get a referral for treatment to Tobechik due to the lack of infrastructure. But beforehand, you can consult with a good specialist in mud therapy in order to use the rest to good use. Lake mud was used earlier for the treatment of skin and gynecological diseases, the consequences of injuries, diseases of the joints. You just need to be somewhat careful when self-medicating - the local sludge is more active than you might think, well-being can deteriorate. It is not necessary, having smeared it, is directly in the sun for a long time. It is better to let the "procedure" be short.

Shoals are located along the entire coastline. Insignificant sections of the lake shore are steep with banks 5 and 9 m high. Six dry river ravines flow into the lake, the largest of which is the Shirokaya gully, which flows into the western part of the lake and forms solonchaks (where the Plavni tract is located). To the west of the lake there is a local road Chelyadinovo-Ogonki-Maryevka, to the east (along the isthmus) - Chelyadinovo-Zavetnoye.

The lake is overgrown with aquatic vegetation mainly in desalinated areas - in lagoons near the embankments, at the mouths of flowing gullies, in the zone of groundwater outlets. Various algae intensively develop here, up to the flowering of water.

The average annual rainfall is 400-450 mm. Nutrition: surface and The groundwater Black Sea artesian basin.
